About this event

Hampstead Heath Challenging Walk

Note: We recommend new walkers try our Hampstead Health Leisurely walk first. If you find this too easy or would prefer a faster pace then book onto this challenging walk.

Meet at Hampstead Heath overground station at 9.50am with the walk commencing at 10am. We will walk to Kenwood House or Parliament Hill café on alternate Mondays with a 20 minute break for refreshment after approximately 1 hour. Our walk is scheduled to finish back at the station at about 12.15pm.

This health walk is recommencing in Camden. Open to all, these walks are taken at a gentle pace and led by qualified Rambler's walking for health leaders. However, due to COVID-19 these walks must now be booked in advance to ensure that groups are no larger than 6 people (1 leader plus 6 walkers).

Due to COVID-19, everyone needs to take steps to stay safe. Please follow all safety advice given by the walk leader, and keep 2 metres distance from anyone outside your household or social bubble. For more information, please see our Guide for Walkers ( https://www.ramblers.org.uk/-/media/Files/Volunteer%20Zone/Coronavirus/Ramblers%20Restart%20for%20Walkers%2030%20July.ashx?la=en&hash=C9EA024CFB6BDA2681576B765281DC60)

Guidelines include:

Please bring face mask and if possible hand sanitiser

We will be walking with social distancing (2 metres / 1 metre plus mitigations such as face coverings or avoiding face to face contact) in groups of 6 walkers , each with their own leader. It is everyone's responsibility to maintain physical distancing.

Walkers to avoid hand rails, gates or stiles where possible.

We have been asked to participate in an online register – Eventbrite – which will be managed by Camden Council. All walkers will be asked to book their place on the Thursday before each Monday’s walk.

Please bring your own refreshments if possible, and do not share or pass food, drink or other items with other walkers or the walk leader.

Please avoid using public transport to travel to the walk where possible.

Attendees take part in the walk at their own risk, and should consider their own personal circumstances when deciding whether it is appropriate for them to attend the walk. Over 70s, and walkers with health conditions should be particularly vigilant to reduce their contact with others, and maintain good hygiene (washing hands etc) .

Your contact details will be required when booking, and may be used in the case of an outbreak amongst the walking group.

Please book a place through event brite before attending the walk. If you do not book, you will not be allowed to attend the walk. Please do not attend the walk if you are showing any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (temperature, cough or loss of taste/smell) . For medical advice please ring 119 or contact your GP.

Importantly, those unable to use this online register will be able to phone or email Camden also by the Thursday and their names will be added.

If you are unable to use eventbrite please contact:

walking@camden.gov.uk or call 0207 974 6781(Steph - Camden Health Walks Scheme coordinator).

Please meet at 9:50am opposite Hampstead Heath Overground station.
